We are some patriotic citizens of Bangladesh who want to end injustice and inequalities, ensure freedom of speech and educate our citizens to choose their leaders consciously.

Jagroto Nagorik Foundation (JaNaF) was established on November 4, 2024 as a non-political, not-for-profit, socio-economic, educational, and civic organization. We are registered with the RJSC (Registration No. S-14369/2025).

Core Activities
A) The Movement: Jagroto July
- Construct an objective history of significant events of July to preserve lessons for future generations.
- Support the families of martyrs and people disabled during the July uprising.
B) Civic Education: Alokito Shikkha
- Empower citizens by educating them about their rights and responsibilities.
- Unite people to secure their rights and freedoms against any form of encroachment.
- Encourage citizens to vote for just and honest representatives at all levels of governance.
- Educate people to hold their elected representatives accountable for their actions.
C) Advocacy: Jagroto Nagorik Shomaj
- Raise awareness among citizens to stand up for justice, human rights, good governance, and a corruption-free society.
- Advocate for equitable opportunities for the prosperity and progress of all citizens.
- Provide legal, financial, administrative, and advisory support to citizens striving to realize their rights.
D) Education: Alokito Shikkha
- Advocate for the promotion of civic education on the part of the government.
- Promote value-based education at all levels, rooted in ethics and morality.
- Provide the "Alokito Shikkha Britti" scholarship for underprivileged students, along with health check-ups and weekly nutrition support, encouraging partner schools to promote value-based, ethical education.
E) Collaboration & Network: Jagroto Desh
Collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations, and provide necessary support to strengthen collective efforts toward shared goals.
Our Objectives
Whereas after suffering decades of tyrannical repression, the defiant people of Bangladesh have been by the unbounded Grace of the Almighty, freed from the iron clutches of an atrocious fascist regime, and whereas great sacrifices were made by many selfless souls for establishing justice and fairness, and equitable opportunities for all in Bangladesh, we resolve to dedicate ourselves to pursuing the following objectives so that the sacrifices made leading up to August 5, 2024 do not go in utter vain:
A) The Movement: Jagroto July
- Gather, document, and construct an objective history of July/August 2024 from credible sources and draw lessons to preserve for future generations the blazing spirit and indelible lessons of the movement.
- Ensure that individuals and families affected by the July movement get their due rights.
B) Civic Education: Alokito Shikkha
- Impart civic education to citizens to make them:
- (a) aware about their basic human rights and their concurrent responsibilities to fellow human beings;
- (b) motivate citizens to take united stand when their rights are infringed upon;
- (c) voice concern against human rights violations, and if necessary, stand up against human rights violations, corruption, dishonest practices, government inefficiency;
- (d) motivate citizens to stand up against corruption, dishonest practices, and government inefficiency;
- (e) demand good governance;
- (f) motivate citizens to elect just, honest, and truthful representatives at all levels;
- (g) in case of breach of trust, hold representatives accountable;
- (h) create awareness in citizens that their elected representatives are hired by them to serve their interests and the interests of the country;
- (i) create awareness in citizens that what is good for them or for their political parties may not always be good for the country; we should create the urge to strive for what is good for the country as a whole;
- (j) support citizens who in trying to realize their rights, stand in need of legal, financial, administrative, and advisory support;
- (k) establish legal aid service centers for the victimized, vulnerable, poor people specially for the women and children.
—By pursuing this objective we will strive to positively impact the self-serving and harmful political culture and politics of the country by being a social organization.
C) Human Rights and Advocacy: Jagroto Nagorik Shomaj Foundation
- Voice concern and/or take stand against injustices and oppressions of innocent citizens.
- Work for preserving, maintaining and improving human rights, civil rights, child rights, women rights, citizen rights and any other rights or to give legal and logistic support and assistance for preserving these rights.
D) Education: Alokito Jonota
- Advocate for civic education on the part of the government.
- Advocate for value-based education at all levels rooted in ethics and morality.
- Establish libraries and information services, publications, newspapers, media channels and relevant agencies, reports, booklets, leaflets, online contents, websites, and magazine facilities to publicize our objectives.
- Grant stipends, scholarships, fellowships, sponsorships, organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and publish periodicals.
- Establish, develop, operate and maintain all types of schools, colleges, universities, polytechnic institutes, technical institutes, computer and information technology training centers, vocational training institutes, marine academies, medical colleges, and other educational and research institutions for the promotion of health care, science, education and for the dissemination of useful knowledge among all, specially the most needy.
E) Collaboration: Jagroto Desh
- Collaborate with similar organizations in promoting and furthering our objectives.
- Promote the establishment of new voluntary organizations and encourage the expansion of existing ones by providing appropriate technical or human resources support.
- Motivate and encourage NRBs and Wage Earners for grafting with their roots, and pay back after the July Revolution and help in their integration process.
F) Societal Development: Unnoto Desh
- Create in people the urge to demand and pursue:
- (a) Free education for all
- (b) Self-reliance
- (c) Health care and sanitation
- (d) Conservation of nature and other self-reliant activities
- (e) Social and economic justice
- (f) Communal harmony
G) Free and Fair Elections: Unmukto Votadhikar
- Work as watchdog organization for establishing democracy, people’s voting rights, good governance, providing all kinds of information, date guidelines for holding free, fair, neutral and participatory elections and provide reports and suggestions to the Election Commission of any irregularities.
- Monitor and observe national and local elections of Bangladesh and report to the concerned authorities in accordance with Election Commission guidelines.
- Suggest to Election Commission laws for holding free fair, neutral elections at all levels.
H) Any Other Objectives: Uddipto Bashona
Pursue any other objective or objectives that fall within the scope of civic education, human rights and responsibilities, good governance, social welfare, and societal wellbeing.

- Amar Vote-e Notun Bangladesh: 49,500 direct and 495,000 indirect reach across 495 upazilas.
- Democracy Day Online Campaign: 10,00,000 online reach, September 2025.
- Sunagorik Shikkha: Engaged 1,740+ students across 6 institutions and multiple districts.
- Winter Relief + Civic Education: 400+ families supported in Lalmonirhat, Jhenaidah, and Tangail, combined with civic-rights awareness.
- Civic Education Training (ToT): 16 divisional ToT trainers, 128 district leaders, and 900+ upazila facilitators trained.
- Alokito Nagorik Fellowship: 116+ youth leaders trained across 5 divisions and 42 districts, with nationwide rollout ongoing.
